Soap Box Derby Car
1995

"Lightning Laura"
This fiberglass soapbox derby car was driven by Ohio teenager Laura Shepherd, who was named National Derby Association Rookie of the Year in 1994. The following year Shepherd--like her car, known as "Lightning Laura"--won the Akron, OH, Suburban Championship to qualify for the 58th running of the All-American Soap Box Derby. Laura and Laura finished fourth.
